The Human Resources Assistant supports the Human Resources Manager in the day-to-day functions of the HR Department. This person helps compile and keep personnel records either electronically or in hard copy. This is a service role that liaises between management and hourly employees. In this role, the HR Assistant is required to maintain confidentiality regarding compensation and personnel matters and must comply with applicable regulatory and legal statutes including, but not limited to, HIPPA and EEOC.
Job duties may include recording data for each employee (e.g., address, contact information, weekly earnings, absences, amount of sales or production, supervisory reports on ability, and date of hire, date of and reason for termination). The HR Assistant compiles and types reports from employment records as directed by the HR Manager. This person prepares employee document packages, files employment records, searches employee files, and furnishes information to authorized persons. The HR Assistant helps in day-to-day administrative functions such as answering the telephone, assisting senior management, and assisting other administrative managers as directed by the HR Manager.
